Sixth Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword – Jesus says “My grace is sufficient for you, for the power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Sunday, July 5 – Ezekiel 2:1-5; Psalm 123; 2 Corinthians 12:2-10; Mark 6:1-13
The Lord raises up the poor from the dust. 1 Samuel 2:8
Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices. Luke 15:4-5
Faithful Shepherd, in those times when our faith waivers and we fall away, we know you will find us and lead us back to the flock. Help us always to feel your love and grace. Give us shelter from life’s storms and from our own lukewarmness. Amen.

Belief of the Church

With the whole of Christendom, we share faith in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe and confess that God has revealed Himself once and for all in His Son Jesus Christ; that our Lord has redeemed us with whole of mankind by His death and His resurrection; and the there is no salvation apart from Him. We believe that He is present with us in the Word and the Sacrament; that He directs and unites us through His Spirit and thus forms us into a Church. We hear Him summoning us to follow Him, and pray Him to use us in His Service. He joins us together mutually so that knowing ourselves to be members of His Body we become willing to serve each other.
